Tor Vergata Live Music: Jazz, Classical and Tango with Roma Sinfonietta

In addition to the concert season which takes place every year from October to May at the AuditoriumEnnio Morricone” in Tor Vergata’s School of Humanities (Lettere e Filosofia) this summer Tor Vergata University of Rome and Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra are proud to offer three extraordinary concerts in June and July, under the artistic direction of Luigi Lanzillotta.

The three summer concerts will take place outdoors – the first two at the Casa del Jazz, the third in the Teatro Tor Bella Monaca – so that a larger audience can discover Tor Vergata’s concert season, of the one of the richest in the capital, ranging from classic music, jazz, songwriting and musical theater.

Three Outdoor Concerts

The first of the three concerts will take place on Wednesday 26 June at 9.00pm at the Casa del Jazz and will be dedicated to Leonard Bernstein.

The second concert is dedicated to George Gershwin, in the garden of the Casa del Jazz, on Thursday 4 July at 9.00pm, with the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra conducted by Gabriele Bonolis.

The third concert will take place on Tuesday 23 July at 9.00pm at the Teatro Tor Bella Monaca.

The Alessandro Quarta 5tet and the Ensemble Roma Sinfonietta will play music of two of the most popular composers of the twentieth century, which – like Gershwin and Bernstein – moved to the borders between classical and other musical genres: tango in the case of Astor Piazzolla and film music as far as Nino Rota is concerned.
