Start Cup Lazio, is a Business Plan Competition promoted by Rome Scientific Park and Tor Vergata University of Rome, which is part of the National Award for Innovation, promoted by PNI Cube (Italian Association of University Incubators and Business Plan Competition), coordinating a partnership of research centers, universities, incubators and entrepreneurial and financial participant members in the Lazio Region.
The objective of the initiative is to promote the economic development of the territory by encouraging the creation of companies with a high level of knowledge. In particular, it aimes to spread the business culture within the Universities and the Research Centers of the territory, encouraging the establishment of spin-offs able to transform the realized scientific ideas and inventions into innovative business projects.
Start Cup Lazio expects several phases. At first, thanks to a pool of experts from academia, business and finance environments, candidates can firsthand see whether their idea is truly innovative and available on the market.
Subsequently, the teams of selected business ideas receive, as well as assistance in drafting the business plan, a period of time dedicated to coaching and mentoring activities, aimed at self-entrepreneurship and the consolidation of the company, within one of the sites of the distributed circuit of incubators, active spaces of Lazio.
Finally, the best 3 business plans of business ideas receive cash prizes and access to the National Innovation Award (PNI).
